On Saturday I made this little bag. How cute is it? I made it for my red headed daughter and she plans on using the bag as her lunch bag. I made the bag out of the scraps from the Amy Butler Messenger Bag I made her a few months ago.
If you’d like to make your own, here’s the free handbag pattern, click on the link, it’s the pattern about 1/2 way down on the page, the bag is called a “Grab Bag” and is the 3rd challenge.
Here’s another free little handbag sewing pattern that I found at With Heat and Hands. She calls her’s a Japanese Knot bag. I think this pattern is even cuter because of the round bottom.
After Googling “Japanese Knot Pattern” I realized this bag is indeed a Japanese Knot Bag. If I had known this earlier I would have used a more Asian looking fabric. LOL, oh well! I’m still happy with the results and my daughter is thrilled. I think this bag took me less than an hour to sew, not including cutting out time.
Here’s a free additional Free Japanese Knot Pattern. If you decide to make any of these bags and get stuck, leave a comment and I’ll do my best to walk you through it.
