Denim Circle Quilt – Free Pattern!

by Shelly

The quilt below is my last project.  I had been saving my kids and husbands old jeans for years and then I found this FREE Denim Quilt PATTERN and it was perfect for using up all those old jeans.  I have to warn you though, the quilt requires a lot of thread, depending on what size you are making, I’d say you’d need a minimum of 4-5 spools, all that zig zagging eats up the thread.

For this project I purchased 4″ fabric squares, which fit perfectly in my circles.  I was attempting to make this quilt a charm quilt but ended up accidentally repeating a few fabrics.

This quilt was a fun, easy project.  I used a cereal bowl as my template for the denim circles.

WOW! That’s really cool! I’m just learning to piece, and am working on my first quilt top of intermediate level piecing (at least I think it’s intermediate)! I’m very impressed with anything that’s not a square or rectangle because that’s the only thing I currently know how to do!

I just found this quilt tutorial today, and am going to make a pillow for our living room. I use denim and country prints. I think it will be a great addition. Love your take on it.
